Why the merger?

It’s not a mathematical error or a play on words: “1+1=1” perfectly sums up what is happening in the world of publishing dedicated to the fields of footwear and leather goods, where the two main players – Ars Arpel Group and Fotoshoe Group – have given life to a process of unification that is aimed at developing initiatives of common interest on an international level. Thus, “Edizioni AF” is launched, and starting this coming January, it will publish the magazines of Arsutoria, Fotoshoe30, Arpel, Idea Pelle, Bambino, and Fur, just to cite the most important ones.


For some time now, national institutions, the political and industrial world, as well as the trade associations themselves have been proposing and continue to propose joint initiatives to increase these sectors’ visibility and importance on a worldwide level. Ars Arpel Group and Fotoshoe Group have taken note of this need: thus, the collaboration between the two, which has been hoped for by many—maybe for the first time in the sector—becomes an important reality.


Fausto Villa (Fotoshoe Group) and Matteo Pasca (Ars Arpel Group) are the protagonists of this partnership: “We have come to an agreement” – comments Fausto Villa – “that will allow us to become increasingly important protagonists on every level, while also having an increasingly complete dialogue about fashion, economy, exhibitions, events, and sector policies”. Matteo Pasca underlines how, “‘together’ means being real protagonists on the international panorama of footwear, leather goods, accessories and components, materials and technology, without forgetting about a solid web presence, that becomes more and more important”.
